Semarang, September 2, 2025 — The Faculty of Economics and Business, Diponegoro University (FEB Undip), reaffirmed its commitment to internationalization by hosting a Visiting Lecturer session themed “Business Analytics and Econometrics for Managerial Decision.” The event, held at the Hall of Building C, FEB Undip, featured Kandrika Pritularga, Ph.D., from Lancaster University Management School, United Kingdom, and was attended by undergraduate and postgraduate students of FEB Undip.
The program was officially opened by Dr. Mahfudz, S.E., M.T., Head of the Department of Management, FEB Undip. In his remarks, he expressed appreciation for Dr. Pritularga’s willingness to share strategic insights with the academic community. “We are very grateful for Dr. Kandrika Pritularga’s presence at FEB Undip. His contribution not only enriches students’ knowledge but also broadens their global perspective, which is essential in today’s era of international competition,” said Dr. Mahfudz.
Moderated by Danes Quirira Octavio, S.E., M.Sc., Lecturer of the Management Study Program, FEB Undip, the session explored the crucial role of analytics and econometrics in supporting business decision-making. As a researcher in business forecasting and lecturer in Management Science at Lancaster University Management School, Dr. Pritularga highlighted how data can be transformed into relevant insights. He emphasized the importance of understanding business decision contexts and applying analytics across multiple areas, from operational policy to marketing strategy.
Through practical case studies—such as the newsvendor problem in inventory management and promotional modeling in marketing—Dr. Pritularga demonstrated that data is not merely a collection of numbers, but rather a foundation of knowledge that enables organizations to make more accurate, measurable, and value-driven decisions.
The lecture further underscored the importance of mastering analytical methods, ranging from descriptive analytics and predictive analytics to prescriptive analytics, which can be applied across various business sectors. Students were encouraged not only to grasp the theories but also to connect them with real-world industrial practices.
By organizing this Visiting Lecturer program, FEB Undip continues to strengthen its international academic network while enriching the quality of learning. Such initiatives provide strategic opportunities for students and faculty to engage directly with global experts, reinforcing FEB Undip’s vision of becoming a World Class Faculty.
